In a time of much uncertainty regarding financial matters, last Sunday’s Convention began on an upbeat note with Joe Dolan, MD of The Bush Hotel confirming that the hotel will continue its sponsorship of the Leitrim team for 2012. This will be the third year the Bush Hotel will be the main sponsor for the senior team and addressing the convention, Joe Dolan said “We are a local family, our customer and employee base is very much local.  I would like to acknowledge the professionalism of the Co. Board, I know they will endeavour to ensure we get the maximum return and we look forward to a mutually beneficial year.  The Bush Hotel is a long established business in Leitrim with great affinity for our local community which makes up a large part of our customer and employee base. Our long association and continued support of Leitrim GAA recognises this affinity.” Welcoming the announcement, Chairman Joe Flynn said “The Executive of Leitrim County Board wish to acknowledge the Bush Hotel for its continued and loyal support of Leitrim GAA and will endeavour to ensure the hotel derives the maximum return from the Leitrim GAA community

Road Safety
As part of a recent Road Safety program, people around the county were invited to experience what it’s like to be involved in a car accident. For a number of days in October, a driving simulator and roll-over simulator were featured in the car park of the Bush Hotel in Carrick on Shannon. The event was organized by the Road Safety Authority and Leitrim County Council to raise awareness about the importance of driving safely, possible driving issues and what happens in a collision situation. Carrick on Shannon Garda Superintendent Noel Carolan expressed his admiration for the foresight of local officials in bringing the simulator to the town.
