Family Staycation at the Bush Hotel

There are so many family-favourite attractions to chose from during your staycation at the Bush Hotel (just a short drive from our town of Carrick on Shannon) including:

• Arigna Mining Experience. During the underground tour, visitors will experience what it was like to work in some of the narrowest coal seams in the western world.  The tour which  lasts 45 minutes brings visitors to the mines coalface where the methods used to extract the coal are demonstrated. A very popular attraction!
• Strokestown House & Gardens. Georgian Palladian mansion preserved with its original furnishings and fabrics, The National Famine Museum & Victorian Walled Gardens.  A fabulous day out!
• Lough Key Forest & Activity Park. Comprising some 350 hectares of mixed woodland, a lake and a number of islands, Lough Key constitutes one of the most extensive and picturesque forest parks in Ireland. A wealth of historical and archaeological points of interest can be found throughout the Park including the Fairy Bridge, Wishing Chair, Ice House and the Moylurg Tower.  A great view of spectacular Castle Island!
