We were so proud to receive this award from Irish Country Hotels and being awarded 1st place in the Service Excellence Mystery Guest Programme is both encouraging and rewarding for the Bush Hotel and our dedicated Staff. The Bush Hotel is a member of Original Irish Hotels, a collection of unique owner-run hotels located in Ireland’s most outstanding destinations.

European Ecolabel (‘Flower’) Award
The Bush Hotel in Carrick on Shannon in Leitrim became the first hotel in Ireland to achieve the ‘Flower’ EU Eco-label in recognition of its commitment to sustainable tourism and protection of the local environment, “Guests see our policies in operation and also feel good in supporting our efforts, thus enhancing the overall experience. From a business perspective, our environmental management approach has delivered significant cost reductions which we have been able to pass on to our loyal customers.”
Georgina Campbell Green Ireland Hospitality Award Winner
The cream of the hospitality world gathered at Bord Bia in Dublin, for the announcement of the Georgina Campbell Awards, associated with the respected Georgina Campbell’s Ireland independent hospitality guides, and Ireland’s most popular independent hospitality and travel website www.ireland-guide.com. Unlike most other award schemes, the Georgina Campbell Awards are completely independent, and in no way affiliated with trade associations or marketing groups; it is this independence which has earned them special respect in the industry, and public trust.
Ecolabel Communication Award
The European Commission announced the winners of the first EU Ecolabel Communication Award. The award recognises exceptional promotional activities to increase public awareness of the EU Ecolabel – the EU’s label for environmentally-friendly goods and services.
The three winners, selected by a jury of environmental and communication experts, were announced at a ceremony in Brussels. The Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, which became the first hotel in Ireland to be awarded the EU Ecolabel in March this year, won the service provider category.
